IPS Announces Annual Employee Awards
The UT Institute for Public Service (IPS) Annual Conference is a time for employees to come together for fellowship, professional development and staff recognition. This is a special time of year when colleagues are formally recognized for their good work throughout the year.
This year the annual conference awards selection committee chose to present 17 awards with plaques and certificates and checks totaling $7,000. Cash awards are made from earnings from IPS endowments that are funded by employee and private gifts. More than 75 nominations were received for awards recognizing 56 individuals and eight projects.
The awards selection committee includes a representative from each agency. Previous winners of the Robert S Hutchison Outstanding Public Service Professional Award and Tom and Diane Ballard Excellence in Public Service Award are automatically included on the panel. The team spent time reviewing each nomination and then met to discuss and make the final decisions.
Employees making up this year’s selection committee are: Dr. Richard Buggeln, CIS; Kristy Godsey Brown, CTAS; Thaddeus Grace, Central Office; Misty Bean, LEIC; and Tess Davis, MTAS. Judie Martin provided guidance on the process and Dr. Mary Jinks gave final approvals on the Vice Presidential Citations.
